About the Course
Our intensive English Language Paper 1 revision course runs from 9:30am – 3:30pm (with regular breaks throughout the day) and is designed to give students the confidence, knowledge, and exam strategies they need to succeed in their GCSE English Language exam.
Who Is This Course For?
This course is ideal for Year 10 and Year 11 students preparing for AQA GCSE English Language Paper 1. All content is tailored to match the assessment requirements, with guidance on how to approach both Section A (reading) and Section B (creative writing) questions.
Topics Covered:
We will review and practise all key aspects of Paper 1, including:
• Section A (Reading) – Strategies for Q1–Q4, including inference, language, structure, and evaluation.
• Section B (Writing) – Narrative and descriptive writing: planning, structure, and style.
• Exam Technique – Time management, avoiding common mistakes, and maximising marks.
Students will:
• Revise and practise every question on Paper 1 with clear, step-by-step strategies.
• Build confidence in tackling unseen extracts through guided practice.
• Strengthen language and structural analysis skills.
• Develop writing techniques to produce original, high-quality responses.
• Gain a clear exam-day strategy for maximising marks.
By the end of the day, students will leave with stronger knowledge, improved confidence, and a clear strategy for tackling Paper 1.
